1st Campout of 2013

We picked up Aaron early from work on Friday and headed to southern Utah for a night in the desert. We got a flat tire in the van on the way down, so we pulled in well after dark. Our friends helped us set up our tent. The kids enjoyed running around with little finger lights; I think they were just happy to finally be out of the car.
Quinn and Emmy had a great time hunting for cool rocks. Then they spent all morning sorting them into groups based on color and size.
The spare tire got us back to Green River where we stopped and got the other tire fixed. We will be buying new tires soon. The blow out was bad and our tires are not looking great.
I am so amazed that such beautiful flowers can grow in such a difficult place. Nature is amazing.
 Eve & Jean chilling.
Emmy's all ready to head down to the river.
Hooray for mud. Emmy spent the entire day exploring the muddy river. She loved every minute. She only ventured out of the water a few times to get something to eat.

Spring Break 2013

We had a great Spring Break last week. It was so fun to have Emmy home and go on a couple of fun adventures with friends and family. Spring Break started on April 1st; the girls and I decided to have a little fun with April Fools Day. I took the girls to my doctor's appointment so that they could hear the baby's heartbeat. They thought that was pretty cool. Then we decided to April Fool's a few people; I called some family and friend and told them the very exciting news that I'm having TWINS! Ha ha! Aaron didn't believe me at all and neither did my sisters. But, I did get my friend Darci and my mother-in-law. Susie has such a great sense of humor. She laughed so hard, then she decided to call my sister-in-law Karen and get her too. Great fun! It was the first time I had a believable and funny April Fools joke. After my appointment, we headed out to Herriman to spend the day with the Hopkinson family. We went to the Dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Pointe. It was a great activity for a cool, windy spring day.
Addie & Emmy worked on this dinosaur for at least 15 minutes. It was hard to find all of the right pieces. It was fun to watch them problem solve and work together.

Tiffany helped Jean & Eve put this little guy together. These girls are such a good friends.
Love this 'playing dead' in front of the giant shark picture. Too funny!

Tuesday, the girls and I headed up to Heber to spend some time with Nana & Papa. Nana took us to the Nickle Arcade in Provo. It was a blast. The girls had such a great time playing the games and trying to earn tickets. The girls were able to pick out some fun little prizes.

This was the most profitable game. With Nana's help, each girl got 75 tickets on her spin. It was very exciting. Emmy and I did it again later and only got 10 tickets. We got lucky the first time.
Eve showing off her 75 tickets!
Later in the week, Aaron joined us for conference weekend. One of our favorite things to do in Heber is go to the 'train place' or Dairy Keen. The girls love the food and ice cream. The best thing is that Emmy can get a hamburger with a gluten free bun. They also make their fries gluten free. It's fun to have a special place we can take her, and she can have a full meal.

Little Eve crashed in the theater room while we watched Return of the Jedi. Doesn't look like the most comfortable sleeping position. My girls have now seen all three of the original Star Wars movies. I didn't see them until I was in high school and college. They have me beat big time. The girls loved them. We enjoyed the rest of our weekend watching conference with Nana and Papa. We have created a little family tradition watching conference in Heber; we started going there for conference weekend while Ken & Susie were on their mission in Chile. We all always look forward to conference weekend with Nana and Papa.

St. Patrick's Day

The girls made this awesome trap yesterday. They were so excited to try and catch a leprechaun. Alison was up last night a few times. I thinks he was so excited about the leprechaun that she just couldn't sleep. The girls didn't catch a leprechaun, but we did get an audio recording of a sneaky leprechaun that left a bunch of chocolate coins and skittles in his hurry to get away from the trap.
No one could pinch these little cuties dressed up in green.

Running the mile!

For Family Home Evening, we took the girls to the high school track to run. All three girls ran a complete mile. It was so awesome.
They had smiles on their faces the entire run. It was great fun.

Hooray! We did it.

PTA Daddy

I volunteered Aaron to be the MC at our school for the rewards assembly. The school met the selling goals for the PTA fundraiser. So, they earned some really great prizes. The top sellers got to dress up the principal, Mrs. Warr, all silly and crazy. She kissed a pig, and then more top sellers got to attach her with silly string. She is a good sport. Aaron talked in a Scottish accent and had a great time entertaining the kids during this fun activity.
