Day 2

Bad day for football in Soonerland. I must concede, the Sooners have been way overrated this season. The QB, Rhett Bomar (or just Omar, depending on the game) did a lot of good things today against UCLA, but he also did a lot of very costly things. Nearly every UCLA score was because of an OU fumble.

Anyway, we did a little family hike this morning out at Lake Thunderbird near Norman. Above is a self portrait we took along the trail. Emmy loves riding in the backpack, and Annika & I loved having the weather a little cooler so we could get outside for a bit. We'll definitely be going back to the lake when the weather cools off a little more. The trail was great, and the leaves will be beautiful in the fall. We're thinking of getting a bike for Annika, putting a baby seat on it, and biking the trails after Emmy is a year old. I know she'll love that. Here is a picture of the Gremlyn in her pack.

Yesterday (Friday) Emmy and I went to the library for baby crafts while mom was at teacher training. She chewed on little foam squares while I made her a crown out of gold pipe cleaners. The library ladies were impressed and said that Emmy looked like a princess.

Here is a little picture of her in her crown.

Well, this week should be interesting. I've got some schoolwork done, especially on finding a graduate project and getting it approved so I can begin work on my proposal. I've got to have that done by the end of December if I want to graduate in May.

Also, BYU plays TCU this weekend. Hopefully they'll make a better showing than the Utes did. That was a shocker, though not quite as big a shocker as OU losing to them. Who the heck is TCU anyway?

First Post

I guess you could say we decided to jump on the blogger bandwagon.

We've been back in Norman since the end of August, having spent the summer living in Utah with Annika's mom and dad while I worked at Dugway Proving Ground. We miss the mountains already, especially me, but are happy to be back in Norman. The weather has been pretty good. Today is beautiful, and after a quick trip to Sam's Club tonight, we're going hiking at a little "Wilderness" area in town. One great thing about being in Norman is that we are close enough for G&P (Grandma and Papa) Lovell to visit often or for us to go up there, especially for important events like birthdays, General Conference, and when BYU plays Utah.

More later. The baby (Gremlyn) woke up, so we're off to run our errands.
