Rafting the Green River
We got to spend a beautiful Friday floating down the Green River. 9 kids under the age of 9 and 6 adults to keep the kids all in line. Emmy was brave and tried a few rapids in a sit-on-top kayak. She tipped over during her first pass, but she got right back on with no tears. She tried one more pass and decided it was 'okay' but then quickly got back in the raft. Alison decided that rafting was the new, "best thing ever!" after a few safe passes through gentle rapids. Eve loved every minute of being on the water. Then we spent Friday night sleeping on the beach under the stars. The kids played in the sand most of Saturday before we drove home. A wonderful weekend adventure!
Loading up the troops!
Alison was really nervous to get in the boats. She calmed down after 10 minutes.
Eve loved riding with daddy!
I spy with my little eyes a mountain goat.
The raft was slow moving but definitely the party boat of the group.
Anna having a nap.
Pirate Eve
The Green River and the Price River merging. The brown water is from the Price River.
Captain Alison. She was the cheerleader and boat director.
Tiff trying to jump back in the raft after running along the shore.
Snack Time!
"Faster, faster!"
Jean was a great co-captain.
Enoch warming up in the sand.
All the kids had Dallin bury them in the sand when we stopped for a little break.
Aaron playing in the rapids.
Poor Anna. Her bottle was covered in sand most of the weekend.
All the shoes secured. Anchors away.
Addie did the entire 8 miles on her own.
Quinn did awesome on the river.
Alison and I are relaxing while we wait for the raft to catch up.
Emmy was nervous, but she had a great time.
Bub came up with the great idea of using the rafts as a slide.
The kids had a great time jumping and sliding into the river.
Dallin showing up everyone with his flying leap.
Green River watermelon. YUM!
Camping on the beach was awesome. People slept in tents, hammocks, and boats. It was a great party.
Changing table!
What a fun day. Thanks bub for the great pics!
