Summer Fun

We have had a really great summer so far. We are enjoying the warmer weather, going on field trips with friends, playing at the parks around Tooele, and watching the plants in our garden grow. Here are a few fun pictures of the last couple of months.
Our first field trip with friends was to the Utah Museum of Natural History & then to the fountains at the Gateway. Emmy and Alison love the new show on PBS - Dinosaur Train. They were very excited to see some dinosaur bones. I think Alison was a bit grumpy because it was really hot in the museum.

Emmy playing at the fountains at Gateway. She never really got in the water. She likes to just skirt around the edges. She makes me laugh.
Alison was still hot. :)
Emmy and her friends playing boat. These are their cabins.

The girls watching their favorite music videos.
Eve scooted herself under the couch. She has been crawling for two weeks now. She is into everything. It takes a bit more work to keep up with her now that she's mobile.
I was tutoring one afternoon during nap time. This is where I found Emmy when I finished tutoring. My little sleeping beauty.
Aaron and I watched an amazing storm blow in one evening. There were some very beautiful rainbows when it was all finished.
Emmy's garden boxes. She is growing potatoes, marigolds, and onions.
We have tomatoes, spinach, lettuce, peppers, onions, and a cucumber. The perfect salad!
Here we have zucchini, mixed greens, onions, strawberries, and a pumpkin plant. These pictures are 3 weeks old. It's amazing how much the plants have grown. I'll have to post some more pictures in a couple of weeks.

9 months

Eve is 9 months old. She figured out crawling this last weekend. She has been scooting around for about a month. However, she is much more efficient now with her half unique crawl. She crawls on her right knee but keeps her left leg out straight. It is really cute. I'll post a video soon.

At her 9 month check-up, she weighed 17 lbs. 9 oz. and was 27 1/4 inches long. She has slowed down on the growth charts a bit. She started sleeping through the night this week. This makes mommy very happy.

She loves her big sisters. They make her giggle and smile. She enjoys exploring all of the toys in the playroom. Emmy and Alison have started making barricades to keep Eve out of their stuff. She loves paper. We are always pulling little pieces of paper out of her mouth. I'm trying to teach Emmy to keep papers and crayons off of the floor. She's learning her lesson; Eve has eaten a few of her favorite pictures.

Eve decided that baby food is for babies. I keep trying to give it to her, and unless she is starving, she just spits it all over me. She eats anything I put in front of her. She is much happier with table food.

Eve is a pure joy. She is very content with life. She plays well with the girls and by herself. We are so happy she's in our family. She loves to swing as you can see from the pictures below.

Kids and Pictures

Trying to take pictures of 3 little girls is not an easy thing to do. Now that Eve is more mobile it is actually almost impossible. Here's my attempt. They are fun pictures even if they aren't all looking at the camera. They capture the sweet personalities of my girls. :)
Eve is always interested in what her big sisters are doing.
They're all looking, but no smiles.
Emmy, you're so cute. I know.
Eve! Eve! This way baby.
Help! I'm being smothered by big sister loves.

Preschool Graduation

Emmy had her preschool graduation a few weeks ago. The kids sang songs for us and performed some tumbling moves that they learned this last year. It was really a great program. Emmy had a great year with Miss Jeni and her classmates in the Love of Learning preschool.

Emmy had her Kindergarten assessment on June 1st. I can't believe that she will start school next year. She is very excited. I'm glad that it's only half day kindergarten here. I know I'm not ready to give her up all day yet.
