Thanksgiving 2009

Special Dresses

Before Eve was born, we found some of the dresses that my mom made for us girls when we were little. The family photo above was taken back in 1982. I was 3 years old and my sister Tiffany was almost a year old. I put these dresses on Alison and Eve today. They looked so cute. I'm so glad that my mom kept these precious dresses that she made for us so many years ago. I hope my girls will put them on their daughters one day.

Happy Birthday Alison

Miss Alison turned 2 years old on November 8th. We had a wonderful little party with my parents and Aunt Emilie. My mom is awesome; she made a nice dinner and the cute caterpillar cake. I got strep throat a few days before her birthday, so it was really great that my mom helped out with the party. Alison had a wonderful time opening her gifts and playing with her new toys. She got a little wooden train set, bowling set, bathtub toys, and a new pink recliner. She loves the soft pink recliner for reading books and watching shows.

Alison is talking all of the time and surprises us constantly with new words and phrases. She counted to 10 the other day at dinner. We were all very impressed. Some of her favorite words and phrases right now are "Why?", "What is that for?", "Raisins Mama" (which actually sounds more like "medicine mama"), "Where Sissy?", and "Where it go?". She loves her blanket and binkie very much. We hope to say bye bye to binkie very soon; I just need to prepare myself for the sadness. She is very expressive with her eyes and face. She loves to sing and is a very good little dancer. She can hear the beat. Her favorite song is All the Single Ladies. She requests it often by saying "Oh Oh Oh mama".

Alison also saw the doctor for her 2 year check-up. She weighs 24 lbs. 6 oz. (25%) and is 35 inches tall (95%). We are happy to report that she is healthy. About a month ago she had a seizure one morning when I was getting her dressed. It was a very scary experience for all of us. I spent 4 hours in the ER with her while they ran a bunch of tests. Everything came back normal, and they recommended we see a specialist at Primary Children's Hospital. She had an EEG done at the end of October, and we just found out that everything came back normal. We are hoping that this is a one time event. We will continue to watch her closely. We are so grateful for all of the thoughts and prayers in her behalf.

Love Me

We sure do Love our little Eve. It is so much fun to have a baby in our home to love and cuddle. She has brought a lot of joy to our little family.

Alison loves to help me with diaper changes. She hangs onto the changing table trying to see her baby sister. She calls her "Baby" most of the time, and when she tries to say Eve is comes out "Ep". Alison always asks me in the morning and when she gets up from naps, "Mama, where baby?" She loves Baby Ep!
